GRUESSE VON UNSERE GAESTE
Hallo Cristina,

This is where I stay when in Rome
(please check it out on my "Favorite Dining Spots,
Shopping, and Lodging" page
above for further information and pictures or click on the icon
below to go directly to Cristina
Planet
29 Accommodation page). Planet 29 staff are very
courteous, the hotel is very clean
and conveniently located near the Central Rail Station
(Stazione Termini), the Metro subway
system, and all major bus lines.Though it does not offer
food, it is very near to many restaurants
and shopping districts, and is very convenient
to catch the train to and from
Rome's Fiumicino Airport (to view map, click here).
It is also near
some of Rome major attractions
as well. Check out Planet 29 Accommodation more on my

Oggetto: A Great and Friendly Place in Rome Greetings from the island of Guam, Just returned from a visit to Germany and Italy and am happy to report that Accommodation Planet 29 located a few short minutes from Rome's Station Termini on Via Gaeta, 29, has been entered in my address book as a great place to stay when visiting the Eternal City. Established earlier this year by owner Cristina Pignataro, this modest, ten room, VERY reasonably priced hotel is located on the first floor (second for those who count like I do) of a historic building in a well-situated location. You walk around the corner to catch either metro or any one of the numerous buses that depart from the train station and reach out to every part of the city and surrounding area. Single rooms run Lira 100,000 (around $59 at the time of my visit), double with bath at Lira 120,000, and one compact double with bath and cooking facilities for slightly more at Lira 130,000. Cristina and manager Georgio are both friendly and extremely helpful with directions, ways to do things and save money, and are happy to make the computer available to help one keep up with email (although there is an public internet shop located next door to the hotel). Across the street is La Familia, a well-known trattoria which absolutely excellent food at small-town prices. Go early, it fills up fast with both locals and tourists. The phone number for Planet 29 is (39) 06/486520 and/or you can book through the internet. The email address is cristina@mclink.it Try it, you won't be disappointed.J.M. Oggetto: Re: R: Let Go: Europe
Rome is an expensive city, and hotels claim many things which the most certainly are not. We lucked out this summer by using the net where we found a recently opened micro-hotel, the Planet 29, who quoted a $65 -70 rate per night. For those who have never been to Rome, that reasonable. Now the good part! The people who run the hotel are a family, Papa Nico owns it and his daughter Cristina runs it, their staff are like family and all seem to speak good English. My baggage was misplaced by Virgin Atlantic for 5 days and they all pitched in to try and get it recovered, and pointed me in the right direction to get new clothes without going to the Gucci style stores. They will arrange anything for you and know just where to go and how to get there, without having to be fleeced by a taxi driver, even to the airport. Just opposite is a charming restaurant where you can also sit out on the sidewalk to eat (very local) also at a reasonable price. The Planet 29 is located on the second floor in a side street near to the main railway station and off the main tourist track, sort of. There are hotels nearer the station but as in most European cities they are not exactly all they claim to be, and 20 to 50% more expensive. I would highly recommend the Planet 29 as a good budget accommodation in Rome. The email address is run by Cristina herself (in English)------------------------------------------------------------
